When unworldly student Anastasia Steele first encountered the driven and dazzling young entrepreneur Christian Grey it sparked a sensual affair that changed both of their lives irrevocably. Shocked, intrigued, and, ultimately, repelled by Christian’s singular erotic tastes, Ana demands a deeper commitment. Determined to keep her, Christian agrees.
Now, Ana and Christian have it all—love, passion, intimacy, wealth, and a world of possibilities for their future. But Ana knows that loving her Fifty Shades will not be easy, and that being together will pose challenges that neither of them would anticipate. Ana must somehow learn to share Christian’s opulent lifestyle without sacrificing her own identity. And Christian must overcome his compulsion to control as he wrestles with the demons of a tormented past.
Just when it seems that their strength together will eclipse any obstacle, misfortune, malice, and fate conspire to make Ana’s deepest fears turn to reality.
Married. Sweet Lord. For those of you that haven’t read this sorry about that massive spoiler but you will find out eventually. And you will still read the book so put your hissy fit to one side and listen up.
The question that is asked in many books, films, tv shows – what do you do when you realise you have everything you ever wanted? In this case Ana has her Fifty but how does she keep him, nurture him, love him and CHANGE him. Surely if you need to change someone and the changes that you would like to see happening are massively out of proportion to the gravity of your equal love for each other surely the relationship will end up an epic fail. Or does Omnia Vincit Amor after all – LOOK IT UP!
This book had me twisting and turning in my seat and turning pages faster than Concorde flew in its heyday. A turbulent roller coaster ride of love, lust, mild sex (very mild) and life in the fast lane.
In reality I cannot speak from personal experience but I can only guess that it is hard enough no matter how well you know a person or how long you have been a couple to get used to being a Mrs. Someone’s wife, life partner WOWZER. That is of course without all the baggage that comes in tow when you marry a gazillionaire with a fucked up past. Yes I swore – okay sorry!! Through book one and two I disliked Ana for being a complete fool and just out of disbelief that you would fall into someones office in such a stupid way. Please do not mistake my feelings of pity for like but there is a certain warmth radiating from Ana that just cannot be ignored.
How do you give up everything you know to live a life that you have no clue about?
Personal feelings for this book resonate those of like, disgust with slight anger but overall a want for more. Out of the three books this book surprised me the least as you could tell they were going to have earth shattering sex at the beginning of the five-page descriptive onslaught that came with every sex scene in each book. Nonetheless with yet another cliff hanger at the end I am indifferent to my want and possible need for more and finality.
