So Christmas is done but we are still waiting for the New Year and things are really starting to take shape over here at Blog A Book. In the next couple of weeks you will be seeing some changes here and there. If there is anything in particular that you would like to see on the blog just send me an email. So back to the late Monday’s post.
I finished listening to this on Audible a couple of days ago and have to say I am glad it is over.
Review will be up soon.
This book is a title from earlier in the year but it has been waiting on my shelf for some time so I figured it would be a good opportunity to read it now and listen along the way. I have read a couple of Moriarty’s books and loved them. Have you read any?
Don’t you just love it when you have an excuse to light some scrummy Yankee Candles! The Christmas scents are particularly yummy smells. Do you have a favourite?
That’s right – two days before Christmas being normal human beings we forgot some bits and had to brave the crowds. This is just a little part of the crowd that we encountered in Stratford Westfield.
Of course I had to get the boy a present and he absolutely loved it – it lasted all of two days.
AX Paris – £45
Although I am working on New Year’s Eve that doesn’t stop me thinking about what I would wear if I was actually going out. There will be a post up tomorrow with other items for an outfit to bring in the New Year. What are you wearing for the big night?
So despite it being Tuesday I hope you enjoyed my Monday post!
Yes people we all know it is almost ‘that’ time of year again and once again we are all preening for Christmas Party time to end the season for work and let the family time commence – well for some. For once I am in this bracket as I have Christmas off and will be spending it at home (family away and himself by my side!). Whilst I long for that special day of snuggling up with the dogs at our feet and watching old movies whilst getting merry I am also getting very excited about my work Christmas party this week. Now I have already put up pictures of what my christmas outfit choices are. However I thought it would only be right to put together a ‘dream’ christmas party look. Check it out and let me know what you think.
A couple of weeks ago myself and Catherine headed out to the Debenhams Spring/Summer collection launch and my, my we saw some gorgeous garments. Lots of pictures were taken and we also made some great contacts. This day was not only Fashion but Home also so this post is part one of two. Check out some of the great pieces that will be available early next year.
Check out the intricate detail and up close it is even more beautiful than what you can see in the picture.
Such understated beauty for a night out on the town.
How wonderful is this pattern – it can be dressed up and down for day and night although if the weather stays cold in the spring months a thick scarf and coat might be needed as the fabric is quite thin.
This Kimono is one of my two favourite bits from the show – sadly the picture of the dress I like the best did not come out well so this is number one for this post! How wonderful is this set – just imagine the shoes that can be worn with it.
Nightwear & Sleepwear
Both of these Kimono gowns were so delicate to touch and would feel fantastic on over a slip or sexy nightgown. My favourite of the two is the first as it can be matched up with a lot more.
Limited Edition Floral Lace Fit & Flare Skater Dress £59
This is what I wore to my work Christmas party. Granted it looked a lot different to the one on the model being that I am wider! It still looked presentable! And yes very short!
These shoes are many years old but still have just that right level of jazz needed! Just what I needed for my Christmas party outfit to make the statement that I don’t only wear flat shoes and crocs (work gear!).
Both pictures are a bit sketchy! Now although they are comfortable I managed to get 3 blisters which I am now sitting at home and nursing :(. A very good night however and one that I would do again if the chance came about once the blisters have healed!
Food & Drink
A favourite in our household and something that seems to always make its way into our fridge at this time of year.
Made for a light snack yesterday afternoon with my feet still aching these were the perfect treat. The whole family had a great time!
This was my Secret Santa gift from last years Broke & Bookish Secret Santa. It looks like a good seasonal book and it is a signed copy 🙂
As this book is being re-released my review will coincide with the release date. I am hoping I enjoy it as much as The Husband’s Secret.
